Video and photo: what to expect

Every style on MiraNight produces a photo; many also produce a short video. Both start from the same single photo of you. The difference is that a video is a sequence of many frames with motion, so it takes longer to make, costs more credits and has a few more things that can go wrong. This page sets expectations before you spend anything.

What a video result is

A video result is a short clip, a few seconds long, in which the scene defined by the style moves: the camera drifts, the person breathes and shifts, hair and fabric move. It is not a long film and it has no sound. The available lengths and the resolution are listed on each style page that supports video.

The face and body still come from your photo. Because the model has to keep them consistent across every frame, a sharp, front-facing photo matters even more for video than for a single image.

Time and cost

A photo is usually ready in about 25 seconds. A video takes a few minutes, because each frame has to be generated. The credit cost depends on the length and resolution you choose and is shown on the style page and again on the confirmation screen before anything is spent. Most photos cost 100 credits; video costs more.

If a video cannot be finished, the credits are returned automatically, exactly as with a photo. You can have up to two jobs waiting at the same time; while one is queued the page shows your position.

What is realistic to expect

Short clips with modest, natural motion look convincing. Fast or complex movement, hands doing detailed things, and scenes with several people are harder, and the result may show small artefacts in those areas. If a clean still image is what you need, the photo option is the safer choice; if you want the scene to come alive, choose video and keep the input photo simple.

A good approach is to create the photo first. If the face and pose are right, the video of the same style will usually be right too.
